NP Risnjak and Kupa source hike

See some of Croatia’s most beautiful terrain on this adventurous, 1-day hiking trip. Depart in the early morning by car from Zagreb and make your way to Croatia’s mountainous Gorski Kotar region, often called “the Green Lungs of Croatia” because of its thick forests. Your destination is National Park Risnjak, one of Croatias best kept secrets! See the famous Schlosser hut, optionally scramble to the top of the rocks and see the sea on clear days. Hike bakc and hike to source of river Kupa, magnificen dark green colour water source erupting from deep depth of earth! Return by evening back to Zagreb, where the tour ends. This is a long lasting day, feeling as two!

Day 1 Zagreb - Risnjak & Kupa hike - Zagreb

Early star at 6:00 Am we pick you up from your Zagreb accommodation. After 2h transfer arrival at Risnjak. Risnjak in National Park and part of Croatias region "Gorski Kotar", well known for its thick forests and rugged mountains. We pass through Crni lug village and proceed deeper to mountains. After leaving behind last village we soon start our hike up the hill, approximately around 8:00 AM. We hike to the Schlosser mountain hut, with uphill hike lasting around 3h. Enjoy the spectacular views of this magnificent forest trail, and proceed from mountain hut to the peak of Veliki Risnjak!
Last part includes some rock scrambling and is optional, but recommendable as the view from the top is unforgettable! On clear days you can see mountain Velebit, Učka, town Rijeka, sea and islands close to Rijeka! Return downhill hike back lasts around 2-3 hours.
After short transfer another trail to Kupa source give us inside into deep greeen source of river! Kupa hike is only 1,5h return hike, after which we reutrn back to Zagreb. (2h)

Premužić trail to Rossi shelter - NP Nothern Velebit Croatia

Engage in this adventure and in one day hike and experience one of the most beautiful trails in Croatia: Premužić trail. Be ready to take real adventure with amazing sea views and sunsets and experience remarkable beauties of Croatian nature!
Starting from Zagreb, this tour takes you up to National Park Nothern Velebit - hidden beauty of Croatian wilderness.
Hiking starts with short hike up to mountain hut, and continues on Premužić trail. We follow famous Premužić trail to next mountain shelter Rossijeva koliba and return the same way back. Full of impressions from our day we board our transport and head back to Zagreb.

Day 1 Premužić trail: Zavižan - Rossi - Zavižan, Zagreb

Early start today 6:00! Today we hike Premužić trail. Top rated and most beautiful trail in Croatia, built in 1930 using special local drywalls technique without any machines! It is a true natural heritage and represents a local knowledge and architecture incorporated in nature.
Interesting fact about Premužić trail is that it doesn't have high elevation changes, and it takes you to different sceneries in mountains. Other special thing is that it gives you true wild mountain experience with unique views changing all the way! With all this, we take our trip that lasts arround 6 hours to next mountain shelter Rossijeva koliba. After arrival to mountain Rossi shelter we have rest and picnic lunch. We return the same way and transfer back to Zagreb. (B, L)

Frozen Plitvice Lakes Day Hike

Winter private hiking day tour to Plitvice lakes national park from Zagreb. A great addition to Zagreb visit, outdoor activity as the local people traditionally do it! From a crowded city in two hours, you will be in white frozen magic of Croatian most famous national park! Frozen lakes and waterfalls and silence to relax without crowds to disturb you.
The trail takes you to the big waterfall, and further by the lakes. More hiking continues with astonishing views on the lakes and we hike back to the starting point. Depending on the weather and conditions on trails (in winter time sometimes boats and trains do not run) - we have lunch break in the park or leave earlier for lunch on our way back to Zagreb. Late afternoon transfer to Zagreb.

At 8:00 your guide will pick you up at your accommodation. After 2h transfer, you will enter most beautiful frozen scenery you can imagine - National Park Plitvice Lakes. During winter hikes, when temperaturesare very low, often all is covered in ice and snow. A walk on Plitvice lakes takes you to the magnificent waterfall, proceeding by the lake and to the frozen scenery of summer boat harbour. Depending on current weather conditions we continue with boat, but if lakes are frozen - boats do not run. We have lunch break either in park or if it is too cold return earlier and have lunch on our way to Zagreb. Transfer to Zagreb in late afternoon. Arrival between 18:00 and 20:00. Plitvice winter hike is between 3-5 hours, easy hike.

Please keep in mind that during winter - depending on current conditions - some trails close and boats and trains do not run. It is because of extreme cold and low temperatures (up to -15°C / 5F) which give us a chance to enjoy beautiful frozen scenery! However, in such a case please dress layers and very warm shoes, pants, jacket, hat, gloves, scarf - so that we can enjoy hike longer!
